Flood Control Workers Injured in Boat Accident off Katy Freeway in Houston, TX
Houston, TX -- April 26, 2022, two Harris County Flood Control District workers were injured in a boat crash near the Katy Freeway in west Houston.
Authorities say the incident happened Tuesday as flood control workers were performing routine vegetation maintenance in Langham Creek between the Katy Freeway feeder road and the main lanes, underneath North Eldridge Parkway. Their aluminum airboat reportedly hit some metal pylons obscured by the water level and capsized on its side.
One of the workers was airlifted to an area hospital and another was transported by ambulance. The condition of the third worker on the boat is unknown.
