Alberto Rodriguez, Passengers Injured in College Station, TX Truck Accident
College Station, TX -- March 27, 2022, 42-year-old Alberto Rodriguez and two others were injured in a crash with a tractor-trailer on Texas Avenue in College Station.
Authorities say the incident happened around 2:40 p.m. on the 2900 block of South Texas Avenue at Brothers Boulevard. Preliminary investigation suggests a Freightliner semi-truck was towing a trailer north in the inside lane of Texas Ave as Rodriguez was driving a Honda Pilot south in the opposite lanes.
The truck driver told investigators they stopped at the Brothers intersection, then began to turn left on a flashing yellow arrow. The driver reported failed to yield to the southbound Honda and its front bumper collided with the front-left quarter of the southbound car.
Rodriguez and two passengers in the vehicle reportedly received minor injuries in the collision. The truck driver was unhurt.

Commentary on Alberto Rodriguez Accident on Texas Ave in College Station
Whatever happened here, it's a bit of silver lining that reports say the crash only caused minor injuries. Of course I hope that's true, but I always take truck wrecks seriously even when initial reports say there was no lasting damage. Quite frankly, preliminary findings don't always accurately reflect a victim's true condition after a crash.
I worked on a case not long ago where a man involved in a commercial vehicle wreck supposedly had "minor" injuries. Days later, he could barely move due to the excruciating pain his supposed "sore back" caused him. It turned out the crash actually ruptured a disk in his spine; do multiple scans, major surgery, months of rehab, and a lengthy battle with an uncooperative insurance company sound particularly "minor?" They sure didn't to us, and we helped that man get the assistance he needed getting back on his feet.
That's why we hope for the best and prepare for the worst, as the saying goes. One way to prepare would be to ensure that experienced investigators gather clear evidence of what exactly happened here. Whether the outcome was immediately devastating or not, it's best for the victims to be ready with what they need to seek help. If they wait until things worsen it may be too late.
