Commentary on Breidyn Maradiaga Amador Single-Vehicle Accident in Houston

In recent reports, sources showed there was a BAC test result of .234 following the crash. Just to be clear, I can only take what reports say with a grain of salt without seeing the evidence myself. But if it's true that contributed to this awful event, there could be more to this crash that the family deserves to know.

Breidyn Maradiaga Amador Single-Vehicle Accident Houston, TX

I am not here to sit around criticizing someone who isn't here to defend themselves. On the contrary, they may have been a victim of a bar or similar venue illegally over-serving them. At 7:00 a.m., it is highly unlikely someone would wake up and get nearly four times the legal limit. That early in the morning, a possibility to look into is if the person was intoxicated from the night before.

If someone goes out to a bar and becomes incredibly intoxicated all the way up until last call, they can go home, sleep for a few hours, then wake up to go someone still too drunk to drive. An establishment engaging in that behavior almost certainly broke the law, and that can make them liable under dram shop law for the resulting accident as well as open them up to serious criminal and administrative consequences.

Like I said, that may have nothing to do with this crash. These reports may not even be accurate. But I help families all the time who find out that someone out there had a hand in the death of their loved one who has yet to answer for their actions. Could the same be true here?
