UPDATE (May 3, 2022): In recent reports, the injured victims were identified by authorities. The driver of the pickup was identified as 36-year-old Jacob Valadez. The driver of the car was identified as 24-year-old Zachary Garcia. Right now, additional details about the crash are still under investigation. Authorities say they are considering alcohol as a possibility.

Schertz, TX -- April 23, 2022, Lauren Carreon was killed and two were injured due to an accident where a pickup and a car collided.

Authorities reported that the crash took place at around 2:00 a.m. along I-35 in the area of Cibolo Valley Drive.

In their reports, officials said that 22-year-old Lauren Carreon was a passenger in a car traveling along the interstate. Somehow, the vehicle lost control and hit a barrier, causing the car to overturn. A pickup then crashed into the car.

Due to the collision, Carreon sustained fatal injuries, reports say. The two drivers involved reportedly had serious injuries due to the crash. Right now, specific factors leading up to the crash remain unclear.
