Bobby Shackleford Injured in Auto Accident on TX-53 in Bell County

Bell County, TX -- March 29, 2022, 55-year-old Bobby Shackleford was injured in a car accident on State Highway 53 in Bell County.

Authorities say the incident happened around on TX-53 at Farm to Market Road 3117. Preliminary investigation suggests Shackleford was driving a Dodge Caliber on FM 3117 when he stopped at a yield sign for Highway 53. He reportedly started to turn left onto the highway from the wrong lane and entered the path of an eastbound Ram pickup truck. The Ram crashed into the front-left quarter of the car; after the impact the pickup ran off the north side of the road and the Caliber spun out a short distance east before coming to rest.

Shackleford suffered serious injuries in the crash. The pickup driver was unhurt.

According to police Shackleford was drinking alcohol while driving but was not intoxicated.
