Commentary on Adolfo Guerra, Ana Guerra Motorcycle Accident in Brownsville

I just want to be clear that I have no more information about this crash than what's available in the news. I wouldn't have any particular reason to doubt the possibility that the motorcycle failed to yield here, but I also wouldn't take that claim at face value without more thorough investigations.

Adolfo Guerra, Ana Guerra Motorcycle Accident Brownsville, TX

Put simply, motorcycle wrecks present a unique challenge due to the fact that a lot of people have a serious bias against motorcyclists. They just assume the driver was being a reckless daredevil. While that's possible, it's often the case that motorcyclists are incredibly safe precisely because other drivers aren't keeping a proper lookout for them. That bias, however, can make early reports like this misleading, and it takes clear evidence to set the record straight.

Perhaps more thorough investigations into this will show these initial reports are accurate, but an accident this serious warrants every possible step to ensure the victims and loved ones involved are getting the full story. It remains to be seen if those steps are being taken.
