Quanesha Brown, Man Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident in McKinney, TX

McKinney, TX -- February 19, 2022, Quanesha Brown and a man were injured after an accident where a vehicle crashed off-road.

Authorities reported that the crash took place at around 1:38 a.m. along Welmeth Road just off Redbud Boulevard.

In their reports, officials said that 34-year-old Quanesha Brown and a 28-year-old man were in a vehicle traveling eastbound along Wilmeth. For reasons unclear, the vehicle swerved to the left, began going westbound, then went off-road and hit a pole.

Due to the crash, reports say that Brown had non-incapacitating injuries while the passenger was said to have incapacitating injuries. Police mentioned alcohol as a possible factor, but they did not release enough information to confirm any details surrounding the crash.

It's important to reemphasize to folks that this is all based on preliminary reports, and it takes far more thorough investigations to confirm these claims. I can't begin to count how many times I looked into crash reports only to find that police completely got the facts wrong.

Now, maybe alcohol was a factor here, in which case there would still need to be thorough investigations. For instance, if the crash involved a local bar illegally over-serving the driver, then those involved here could be victims of that negligence, and there could be a remedy under dram shop law to hold that business accountable.

Otherwise, are authorities taking the necessary steps to consider other possible factors? Were there mechanical issues? A tire blowout? Road hazards? A medical emergency? Even if something seems unlikely, it warrants consideration to ensure people are getting the help they deserve. Until then, folks are best served taking all of this with a grain of salt.
