Commentary on Dylan Burch Single-Vehicle Accident in Nacogdoches County
It's certainly not my place to speculate about what happened here, but I find others don't always share that same prudence. A lot of the time, people jump to all kinds of conclusions the minute they read about a single-vehicle wreck.
Were they drunk? On their phone? Speeding? These are all possible and absolutely worth consideration. But what about less likely factors? Just because something like a manufacturing defect is less common doesn't mean it should just go overlooked. That's just asking for something important to slip through the cracks.
Unfortunately, even the authorities can overlook these possibilities, which is why folks often come to me with preliminary reports which further investigations show to be incomplete or just plain wrong. Maybe investigations wouldn't do so here, but it's important to take steps to ensure people are getting the full story. That's a vital step to getting people the help they deserve.
