Commentary on Ma Del Carmen Zarazua Landero Truck Accident in Wharton County
One would think that seeing approaching traffic during daylight hours would be simple enough for anyone, let alone a supposed trained professional. So what was different here? Folks may just assume the driver was on their phone or being impatient, but even those factors can be more complex than people realize.
Across hundreds of commercial vehicle wrecks, I've dealt with all kinds of contributing factors, and some of them require far more attention than a simple slap on the wrist. There may have been an issue with a driver who was not trained or experienced enough to safely operate a commercial truck. It could be a driver was distracted by dispatch or a supervisor blowing up their phone or perhaps fatigued due to being forced into working unreasonable hours.
I've seen all of these kinds of situations among many others, and it almost always took more thorough investigations than a preliminary crash report. So, were steps taken here to bring to light all of the issues that led to this incident?
