Commentary on Scott Donald McClennan 18-wheeler Accident in Houston

Reports seem to suggest that the truck here made a reckless wide turn, and I have no particular reason to doubt that. Perhaps there were extenuating circumstances that led the truck driver to reasonably believe it was safe to turn, but even if they made a mistake, it's important to find out what other potential factors could be at play.

Ashley Casimiro tractor-Trailer Accident in Harris County, TX

There could be a complex situation like one I had a while back where a company's drivers were driving recklessly because their employer wanted them to meet unreasonable deadlines. Essentially, the drivers had to choose between being responsible drivers and putting food on their family's table. Naturally, some drivers chose to support their families however they could, putting their own lives and the lives of others in serious danger.

What a haphazard investigation would have called a reckless driver turned out to be a company that needed its whole act cleaned up when put under more scrutiny. Were equally prudent eyes ever looking into what all happened here?
