Commentary on Alberto Espinosa Car Accident in Houston
It's always important to take reports like this seriously while also taking the initial details with a grain of salt. Sometimes authorities bring up things like alcohol, speeding, or distraction, and further investigations show that no such factors actually contributed to the crash. However, if alcohol was a factor here, that can make things rather complex.
This is due to dram shop law. Essentially, the law says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. Not only can this be crucial for the victims and families in need of assistance, it can also be important for the community that business would otherwise likely continue putting in danger.
So while I can't say what all happened here, there are plenty of red flags to warrant more thorough investigations.
