Woman, Child Injured in Car Accident on I-30 at Buckner in Dallas, TX

Dallas, TX -- January 13, 2022, a woman and a child were injured following an accident where multiple vehicles, including a semi-truck, crashed on I-30.

Authorities reported that the crash took place at around 8:40 a.m. along I-30 in the area of Buckner Boulevard.

According to initial investigations, an East Chicago, IN man was in a Toyota Yaris traveling westbound along the interstate. That vehicle reportedly changed lanes to avoid debris in the roadway, resulting in the vehicle spinning out. There was then a collision with an 18-wheeler parked on the right shoulder, followed by a westbound Honda CR-V hitting the Toyota.

Due to the collision, a 24-year-old woman and a baby in the Toyota were taken to an area hospital. Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable.

While these facts may seem pretty straight forward at a glance, it's important that investigators are thorough enough to really look into the reasonable prudence of the drivers involved here. Was the Toyota driver being prudent avoiding the debris and simply lost control due to factors he couldn't control? Was it reasonably prudent for the truck driver to be on the shoulder? Would a reasonably prudent driver have been able to avoid hitting the Toyota, and the Honda driver somehow failed to take those precautions? There are many different possible answers to those questions, likely and otherwise. Taking steps to ensure there is clear evidence will no doubt be crucial in getting folks the help they need.
