Two Killed in Car Accident on FM 1409 in Dayton, TX

There is very little information here, and police don't even say how the fire occurred. The obvious assumption is that a crash occurred, especially since this happened at a peak time for intoxicated driving. Things like fatigue and mechanical issues also can't be ruled out without more thorough investigations. Right now, however, it's not even clear if there was a crash at all. I certainly don't want to jump to conclusions. My hope is simply to spread the word in hopes that someone can come forward that will ultimately be of some help to the victims' loved ones. Are there any locals or witnesses that can shed light on what may have happened here?
