Magnolia Man Injured in Truck Accident on FM 1488 in Montgomery County, TX
Montgomery County, TX -- November 22, 2021, one person was injured due to an accident where a truck hit them along FM 1488.
Preliminary reports indicated that the crash took place at around 1:35 p.m. on FM 1488 in the area of Corporate Woods Drive.
According to officials, a 38-year-old Magnolia man was on a pedalcycle traveling westbound along the center turn lane. Reports say the cyclist crossed to the right into the path of a truck which then hit the pedalcyclist.
As a result of the collision, the pedalcyclist had critical injuries. No other injuries were reported. Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable.

These reports seem to paint a pretty clear picture, but something to keep in mind is that we're only looking at one explanation of the events. That explanation could very well be accurate and supported by a mountain of evidence. But it's important to consider the possibility that these reports are only telling part of the whole story.
For example, I've come across a lot of reports over the years where police blamed pedestrians, motorcyclists, bicyclists, scooters, and other atypical travelers for a crash because they felt those people were doing something dangerous. Then, more thorough investigations would show that person either wasn't doing anything wrong or that the person who hit them also contributed to the accident through things like speeding, distracted driving, etc.
Maybe nothing like that happened here, but I don't see any reason to consider this situation open-and-shut without being certain there have been more thorough independent investigations.
