Commentary on Taylor Lirette Semi-Truck Accident in Montgomery County

This is a pretty chaotic scene, so while the facts seem pretty straight forward, it's important to remember that there's often a lot more to commercial truck wrecks than people may think. For example, a truck driver failing to change lanes safely could just be a momentary lapse in reason. It could also be that something beyond the truck driver's control, like a tire blowout, somehow slipped under the radar. But more complicated would be if there was a series of events police almost never look into.

Taylor Lirette Semi-Truck Accident Montgomery County, TX

I had one situation a while back, for example, where a truck driver got into an easily avoidable accident. It made us wonder how anyone with basic training could make such a dumb mistake. Well, our continued investigations revealed the truck driver had no basic training. His employer basically hired someone with no experience, then rushed him through the training process to get their product moving as soon as possible. They essentially put someone behind the whee of a multi-ton boulder and crossed their fingers. It was only a matter of time before someone got hurt, and failing to properly address those mistakes would likely mean more people would get hurt in the future.

I'm not saying anything like that happened here, but it's not the kind of thing authorities tend to look into. That's why taking steps to have experienced accident reconstructionists dig into the details is so crucial. Getting folks the help they need is obviously a priority, but there should also be efforts to make sure all parties involved in the crash face any appropriate consequences. Whether or not those steps were taken here remains to be seen.
