The facts here seem pretty straight-forward, but something I talk about a lot is the importance of being thorough even when it seems police have all the facts. Quite frankly, their reports don't typically cover some of the less common factors that contribute to serious accidents, and that can detrimental for the folks who need help after the crash. For example, this semi-truck overturned. Did the safety features function properly? Did airbags go off? Were seatbelts in working order? Did the cab cave in too easily, as is a known issue with some commercial trucks? I'm not saying any of that happened here, but if I had a loved one involved in a serious wreck, and I found out authorities didn't even bother looking into these possible factors, that would be a serious issue.
