Commentary on Corsicana Man Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 310 in Hutchins
It's not really clear why authorities brought up alcohol here. They could have clear evidence to go off of, but my concern with serious commercial vehicle wrecks is authorities can sometimes jump to conclusions. This isn't to say that officers are hasty or unskilled. A lot of times, they just don't have the proper equipment or training to look into less common factors. That can create serious issues.
When a professional accident reconstructionist looks into a complex truck wreck, they're going to consider all of the common possibilities as well as unlikely scenarios, such as mechanical defects, road hazards, medical conditions, hazardous road design, poor signage, lighting, etc. If an investigation isn't asking all of these questions, then it likely isn't telling the whole story. Especially with someone in serious need of help after an accident, making sure they get all of the facts is absolutely crucial. Are those steps being taken here?
