UPDATE: Luis Garcia Campos Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident in Midland, TX

This early in the morning, people will probably jump to conclusions about exactly what happened here. Part of the reason for that is because factors like fatigue, intoxication, and distraction are rather common. Alcohol is particularly important to consider with a deadly Midland crash. Midland-Odessa has about the worst rate of drunk driving in the whole state, and there could be a local business who contributed to the crash that needs to be held accountable through Dram Shop Law.

That said, people can't just rule out other possibilities without conducting thorough investigations. Something like a mechanical issue, for example, isn't common, but it still warrants consideration. Only by confirming or ruling out these potential issues through clear evidence can victims and families get the answers they need. Hopefully steps are taken to see that happens here.
