1 Killed in Commercial Truck Accident in Fallbrook, CA on East Mission Road

Fallbrook, CA -- March 18, 2020, An accident involving a commercial truck killed a 62-year-old Murrieta man Wednesday in Fallbrook, California.

The fatal two-vehicle collision happened in the 2200 block of East Mission Road at around 1 p.m. According to California Highway Patrol, a van traveled eastbound on Mission when the vehicle drifted across the median into opposing traffic. The van then struck an Isuzu NPR two-axle commercial truck.

Emergency crews extricated the trapped man from the van, and transported him to the hospital, where he later died. The driver of the commercial truck did not sustain injuries in the accident.

Both lanes of East Mission Road remained shut until 3 p.m. for investigation and clean up following the accident. At this time, additional details surrounding the accident are unclear. The crash remains under investigation.
