Robert Warnecke Killed, 2 Others Injured in Semi-truck Accident in Barron County, WI

Barron County, WI -- January 13, 2020, Robert Warnecke died and two others were injured in an accident involving a semi-truck.

The relevant events occurred around 1 in the afternoon on CTH I.

Information from the Wisconsin State Patrol cited in media accounts suggests that Joseph Wakefield's Ford Escape was traveling west on CTH I when it collided from the rear with a semi-truck turning onto 22 and 3/4 Street.

First responders pronounced the death of the passenger in the Escape, Robert Warnecke, at the scene. Mr. Wakefield and another passenger in the Escape were also hospitalized with minor injuries.

Investigators are still attempting to establish potential contributing factors for the crash.
