One Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 70 in Summit County, CO

Summit County, CO -- On October 9, 2019, injuries were reported in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 70 in Summit County.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, the incident happened Wednesday on the interstate near Silverthorne. Investigators learned that a tractor-trailer carrying lentils was headed down the road from the Eisenhower Tunnel when it collided with three other vehicles. The truck overturned and spilled lentils across the road at the Ptarmigan Ranch Road overpass. The collision also started a small fire among the vehicles involved.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco.

The investigation is ongoing.
