Maria Gamez killed when crushed by cement truck on highway 183
On April 11, 2008 41-year-old Maria Gamez was killed when a cement truck broke through a concrete median and rolled on top of her Ford Expedition. The accident took place on highway 183 in Irving, Texas where it merges with I-35.
The concrete truck appears to have been traveling in the opposite direction when it crossed over the median, struck a motorcycle, and then rolled over crushing the Maria Gamez' car.
The driver of the motorcycle and the Gamez' child sustained major injuries and were rushed to local area hospitals.

This wreck is almost exactly like that one that happened a few months ago where that big rig fell off the bridge on that one girl. I have a friend who was in a bad car accident and the insurace company told him that they would take care of everything. He told me later that the insurance company did not fulfil all of their promises. I sure hope that this persons family doesn't get screwed over.

I think the wreck you are referring to was the event where an 18-wheeler fell from an overpass near downtown and crushed a car below that was driven by a young girl named Ashley Parra.
Lindsey, I agree with you and I hope that this family doesn't get fooled into trusting the insurance company that represents this cement truck. They are looking out for their best interests. Like EVERY insurance company out there, they are only going to be concerned with their bottom line.
I'm sure the insurance company is sympathetic to what happened, but I'm also sure that the moment this happened insurance company representatives including their investigators and lawyers were at the scene trying to protect their interests.
These situations are tragic and I wish the best for this family but as you can tell I do not trust these insurance companies.

I feel bad for Maria Gamez's daughter Angelica Gamez. She is going to be getting better from the crash but it will take a long time for her to deal with losing her mom. My condolences to the entire family of Maria Gamez.
