On Thursday, March 11, Teresa Lizar was killed in a tragic seven-car accident near Kansas City, KS. Police report that a truck driver clipped the back of another vehicle, lost control, and crashed into five vehicles, one of which was driven by Lizar. Charges against the truck driver are being considered.
When drivers get behind the wheel, they have a responsibility to ensure that their actions do not bring harm to other people. When they neglect this responsibility and cause an accident, the victims or the victims' families may wish to file a lawsuit. I wish I could say that this is a simple process, but it rarely is. I have worked on these types of cases for twenty years, and I have seen people go to extraordinary lengths to avoid accepting responsibility for an accident. But ultimately, the law is on your side, and with the help of an experienced wrongful death lawyer, you can make sure that the people responsible for your loved one's death are held accountable for their negligence.
