On Saturday, March 6, Lenard Pineda-Guardado was killed while riding in a pickup truck driven by Christian Alfaro. According to police reports, Alfaro had a green light and was passing through an intersection when an SUV driven by 17-year-old teenager crashed into the passenger side of the pickup. Police are trying to determine whether or not the teenager was speeding. The investigation continues.
Drivers are responsible for making sure that their actions do not endanger other drivers, their own passengers, or anyone else. When this responsibility is ignored and an innocent victim is hurt or killed, family members may wish to sue for wrongful death. Unfortunately, this is a very difficult process. I have worked on these cases for twenty years, and I have seen people go to extraordinary lengths to avoid accepting responsibility for an accident. But the truth is this: the law is on your side, and with the help of an experienced wrongful death attorney, you can bring those responsible for your family member's death to justice.
