Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, March 9, a man was killed in a hit and run accident in Fort Work, TX. Police report that the man had run out of gas and pulled over on the side of the road. He attempted to cross the street when he was hit by both an 18 wheeler and a pickup truck. The pickup stopped but the 18 wheeler kept driving. Witness reports on exactly what happened are varied. Police are still investigating the details of the incident.
Losing a family member in an accident is a terrible tragedy. In cases where this loss is caused by another person's negligence, the victim's family may wish to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Unfortunately, this is very difficult. I have worked on wrongful death cases for twenty years, and in my experience, people are willing to do almost anything to avoid accepting responsibility for an accident. But the truth is this: the law is on your side, and with the help of an experienced wrongful death lawyer, you can bring those responsible for your loved one's death to justice.
