On Sunday, March 7, Audrey Adams was killed in a tragic accident in Waldorf, MD. Police report that Adams was a passenger along with Susan Dehetre in a vehicle driven by Thomas Dehetre. Dehetre collided with another vehicle driven by John Lewis. Adams was rushed to a hospital but she died of her injuries. No one else was seriously injured. Police are still investigating the incident.
Drivers have a responsibility to ensure that they do not hurt other people with their actions -- and this responsibility extends to their own passengers. When a passenger is killed due to negligence of their own driver or someone else, family members may wish to file a wrongful death lawsuit. I wish I could say that this is a simple task, but in my experience, people will do whatever they can to avoid accepting responsibility for an accident. But the truth is that the law is on your side. With the help of an experienced wrongful death attorney, you can be sure that those responsible for your loved one's death are held accountable.
