On Monday, March 8, a 55-year-old man was killed in a hit and run accident in Bay Shore, NY. Police received a call at approximately 5:39 in the morning and found the man on the side of the road. His identity has not been released. Police are still investigating and searching for the driver.
When drivers get behind the wheel, they take on a responsibility to ensure that they do not put other people in danger with their actions. When this responsibility is ignored and innocent victims are killed, family members of those victims may wish to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Unfortunately, this is a very difficult task. I have worked on these types of cases for twenty years, and I have seen what people are willing to do in order to avoid accepting responsibility for an accident. But ultimately, the law is on your side, and with the help of an experienced wrongful death lawyer, you can make sure that those responsible for your loved one's death are held accountable for their negligence.
