JUDGE REINSTATES B.I.G. FAMILY'S LAWSUIT: Earlier decision to dismiss the wrongful death case against L.A. is reversed. (Eurweb)*A previously-dismissed wrongful-death lawsuit filed against the city of Los Angeles by the family of Notorious B.I.G. was reinstated Friday by U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper, according to reports.

U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper threw out the lawsuit March 21 after determining the family missed a state deadline for bringing a claim against the city and two former police officers.

Wrongful-death lawsuit filed in Indiana mining accident (AP via Yahoo! News) The family of a man who plunged more than 500 feet in a coal mine's air shaft filed a wrongful-death lawsuit Thursday against a company he helped found that was building the shaft.

 

Rex Williams killed in skydiving accident

On March 12, 2008 59-year-old Rex Williams of Tacoma, WA died when his parachute failed to open over Rosharan, TX. Williams was a novice skydiver and had made 8 successful jumps before. His ninth proved to be fatal. Williams landed in a wooded area and resuce workers had to use off road vehicles to recover his remains.

Steve  Boyd, owner of Skydive Spaceland, commented that at least 12 other skydivers were present at the time of the accident yet none of them saw the accident take place. This marks the fifth death in eight years for the company.
