On Sunday, March 7, 16-year-old Joseph Fonseca was killed in a tragic one-vehicle accident in Virginia Beach, VA. Fonseca was riding in a vehicle driven by another 16-year-old, when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree. The driver has been charged with driving under the influence and involuntary manslaughter. The incident is still being investigated.
Drivers are responsible for the safety of their own passengers. When they are neglectful in this regard and their passengers are injured or killed, victims or their families may wish to file a lawsuit. I wish I could say that this is a simple task, but in my experience, people will do everything in their power to avoid taking responsibility for this kind of accident. But ultimately, the law is on your side. With the help of an experienced wrongful death attorney, those responsible for your loved one's death can be brought to justice.
