On Sunday, March 7, a woman in Kansas City, KS was killed in a tragic accident. Police report that the woman was riding in a vehicle when the driver lost control and crashed. The female passenger was killed in the accident. The driver and a number of other passengers sustained minor injuries. Police are still investigating the accident. None of the victims' names have been released.
Drivers are obligated to make sure that their actions do not put other people in danger. This obligation extends to their own passengers. When a passenger is killed due to his or her driver's negligence, family members may wish to sue for wrongful death. Unfortunately, this is never an easy task. I have worked on these cases for twenty years, and I have seen people go to extraordinary lengths to avoid being held responsible for an accident. But the truth is this: the law is on your side, and with the help of an experienced wrongful death attorney, you can make sure that those responsible for your family member's death are held accountable.
