Chicago worker killed while working on gas pipe.
On March 3, a worker for People's Gas, a Chicago-based gas company, was killed in a gas pipe accident. People's Gas states that there was no explosion in the incident. The worker's name has not been released. Officials are still investigating the cause of the accident. Losing a family member is a devastating experience. In cases where a such a loss is caused by another person's negligence, surviving family members may wish to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Unfortunately, this is never easy. In my experience, construction companies will do whatever they can to avoid being held responsible for an accident. But the simple truth is this: the law is on your side. With the help of an experienced wrongful death attorney, even the industry giants can be brought to justice.
