On Sunday, February 28, Damita Law was killed in a tragic hit and run accident in Whatley, Alabama. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later apprehended the driver, 19-year-old Ezekiel Lewis. It is believed that Lewis was intoxicated. An investigation is still underway.
Losing a loved one is a devastating experience. When the accident was caused by another person's negligence, family members may wish to sue for wrongful death. Unfortunately, this is not an easy task. In my experience, people will do almost anything to avoid being held responsible for an accident. But ultimately, the laws are designed to protect victims and their families. With an experienced wrongful death lawyer on your side, you can make sure that the people responsible for your loved one's death are brought to justice.
