On Sunday, February 28, Julia Williams was killed in a tragic single-vehicle accident. Williams was riding in a car driven by Jeremy Whitworth. Police report that Whitworth was drunk at the time of the accident. Whitworth lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a bridge rail. Whitworth is being charged with first degree manslaughter.
Drivers are responsible for the safety of the passengers in their own vehicle. When drivers act negligently and hurt or kill those passengers by driving drunk, they can be held liable for their negligence. Unfortunately, filing a wrongful death suit in these kinds of accidents is never easy. I have worked on these cases for twenty years, and I have seen what people are willing to do in order to avoid being held responsible for an accident. But the truth is this: the law is on your side, and with the help of a TX wrongful death lawyer, you can be sure that the people responsible for your family member's death are brought to justice.
