JUDGE REINSTATES B.I.G. FAMILY'S LAWSUIT: Earlier decision to dismiss the wrongful death case against L.A. is reversed. (Eurweb)*A previously-dismissed wrongful-death lawsuit filed against the city of Los Angeles by the family of Notorious B.I.G. was reinstated Friday by U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper, according to reports.

Judge lets Notorious B.I.G. wrongful death suit proceed (USA Today)A judge has reinstated a wrongful-death lawsuit brought by the family of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G., reversing an earlier decision to dismiss the case. U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper threw out the lawsuit March 21 after determining the family missed a state deadline for bringing a claim against the city and two former police officers.

Wrongful-death lawsuit filed in Indiana mining accident (AP via Yahoo! News) The family of a man who plunged more than 500 feet in a coal mine's air shaft filed a wrongful-death lawsuit Thursday against a company he helped found that was building the shaft.

 

Construction worker Santiago Olivarez killed by truck

Santiago Olivarez, a construction site manager for Ballenger Construction Company, was killed in a workplace accident. The accident occured on December 20, 2006 when Olivarez was walking through the job site and was struck by a tar tanker. A tar tanker is a heavy-duty truck used to transport and distribute oil prior to paving a road. According to witnesses Olivarez was walking when the truck reversed and hit him. OSHA has launched a full investigation.
