Albuquerque car wash worker Floridalia Astorga was killed after being struck by a vehicle at work
A female employee of an Octopus Car Wash in Albuquerque, NM was fatally injured in a workplace accident on Saturday, January 30th, 2010. 30-year-old Floridalia Astorga lost her life when a co-worked hit and pinned her against a pole at around 9:00 a.m. According to police, a worker was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee from the conveyor belt toward the drying area when the employee driving swerved to the left and hit Astorga. The owner of the car wash says the accident was caused by a stuck accelerator.
In such an unfortunate situation, Astorga's family must now face the financial hardships of losing a family member. In addition to obvious immediate costs (medical bills, final expenses), there are other possible expenses to consider (loss of future income, loss of consortium, mental anguish, etc). Many times people do not realize the extent of damages associated with a workplace wrongful death, and accept the inadequate offer from the insurance company. The best way to get proper compensation is to speak with a wrongful death attorney first. You need someone to fight for you to get the compensation you deserve!
