Phu Viet Bui crushed to death in mechanical lift malfunction at Bao Auto Repair
An auto body repair worker died Sunday, January 17th, 2010 after he was crushed and pinned by a faulty mechanical lift used for vehicles. 38-year-old Phu Viet Bui was working underneath a lift, when a chain failed causing a 15-foot-long flatbed trailer to fall. Mr. Bui suffered a fatal head injury.
In a situation such as this, you may not know who to seek compensation from, for your loss. The truth is, the answer is not cut and dry. If someone you love has been killed in a job-related accident, your first move should be to speak with a wrongful death attorney. An attorney will evaluate your case, determine the negligent parties, and seek appropriate financial compensation for your losses. It may be a case where multiple lawsuits need to be filed for one injury. The employer, as well as the lift manufacturer, and the shop's equipment maintenance company may all share some responsibility in Phu Viet Bui's death. Before you do anything that might damage your case, discuss your case with an experienced fatal job accident attorney.
