Saginaw Texas worker killed in North Richland Hlls tree removal accident
A tree removal worker was killed in a Texas work accident on Thursday, January 14th, 2010. The man, who's name has been withheld until his family is notified, was hired to remove a 30-40 foot tree from the front yard of a 1-story home. This morning, the individual and three others came to remove the tree. They made cuts to the base of the tree, and then realized that some higher branches needed to be trimmed first as to not hit the home. The man climbed a ladder to about 15 feet and started trimming branches, when suddenly the tree snapped at the trunk. The man was knocked from the ladder to the ground, and pinned under the tree. Emergency crews were called to the North Richland Hills home around 10:00 a.m., but the man died from his injuries.
This man's death seems to be directly attributed to a disregard of safety procedures and/or lack of training. When you are hired by an Texas employer to do a job, the employer is required to provide a safe work environment. If the employer had failed to properly train these men, then the employer may be found negligent in this man's death. Texas wrongful death lawsuits can be very complex when it comes to work-related deaths. There are many factors that could drastically change the way an attorney would go about recovering compensation. Does the employer have workers' compensation insurance? Was the victim an employee or a contract worker? A job site wrongful death attorney will discuss your case with you, determine those negligent for the accident, and fight for the compensation you deserve for your loss.

I am very sorry for the loss of individuals in ladder related tree deaths. I have been a logger, tree climber, and owner of a professional tree removal svc for over 15 years.People are very uneducated about tree removal, ladders should have no place in the tree industry !!!! Ladders are the #1 cause of tree related deaths! When is Osha going to stand up and say NO MORE LADDERS IN THE TREE INDUSTRY. This is also why there are professional tree services!!! Please help stop the nonsense of people losing there lives for using the wrong equipment in a wrong situation, that's why they call it tree climbing and that's why they have bucket trucks.LADDERS ARE NOT FOR TREE WORK!!!!!
