Arlington motorcycle cop Craig Story killed in fiery collision with school bus
Arlington Texas police officer Craig Gordon Story, 34, was killed in a tragic accident early Wednesday, January 13th, 2010. Story was riding his motorcycle northbound on Cooper attempting to pull over a speeding driver, his lights and siren running, when he collided with a school bus heading southbound that turned left at Lynda Lane (in front of Officer Story). Story's gas tank ruptured in the fatal motorcycle accident, and the bike caught fire immediately. Witnesses came to the officers aid and pulled him from the fire, but sadly, he could not be saved. Craig Story was a decorated seven-year veteran of the Arlington police force. He adored his wife, Danielle Story, and his 2-year-old son, John. The couple had also recently found out that Danielle was pregnant with a second child. The bus driver was brought to police headquarters for questioning, but was not under arrest.
This is such a tragic story. My thoughts are with Danielle, and the rest of Craig Story's family. Officer Story lost his life while working to protect our Texas citizens from danger. Now his wife has lost her partner, and 2 children have lost their father. There is no doubt that Officer Story's death will put a heavy burden on his wife. No one can give her back what she has lost, but she may be able to relieve the financial strain by seeking compensation through a wrongful death claim. If you have lost a loved one due to an auto accident with a large truck or bus, a Texas wrongful death attorney can review your case, determine if there is a negligent party, and bring a wrongful death lawsuit against that person or entity. Wrongful death cases in Texas can be very complex. It is recommended that you seek the help of an experienced wrongful death lawyer in Texas. If not, there is a good chance that you could inadvertently damage your case over a simple technicality. If you are suffering form the wrongful death of a loved one, call a Texas wrongful death lawyer and get the financial compensation you truly deserve.
