Falling Semi-Truck Cargo Kills Zachary Staggs, Shannon Steele, Michael Daugherty
A horrible accident caused the death of three people on Monday, January 13th, 2010. A 44,000 pound coil of steel fell off of the back of a tractor-trailer as the driver took a hard turn in Orange County, Indiana. The coil first struck a Chevy S-10, instantly killing Zach Staggs, 22, and Shannon Steele, 21. Stagg's 11-year-old sister was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital with serious injuries. The coil then hit a Chevy Aveo driven by Michael Daughtery, 41. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
If a loved one has died due to the negligence of an 18-wheeler driver, you may be considering seeking financial compensation from those negligent in the accident. Before you do anything, you should discuss your case with a wrongful death attorney. An attorney can review your case and tell you what your options are. There are many hurdles in recovering appropriate compensation from trucking insurance companies. Recovering appropriate compensation in a wrongful death suit is virtually impossible without the help of an experienced trucking wrongful death lawyer.
