Pedestrian Catorino Solis was killed when she was struck by a box truck
A Manhattan pedestrian was struck and killed on Monday December 21st, 2009, when an unlicensed delivery truck driver ran a red light, causing an accident. Catorino Solis, 48, was waiting at the corner of Park Ave and 50th St. around 5:15 a.m. when a box truck driven by 48-year-old Everildo Quevedo ran a red light, struck a Nissan pick-up truck, and careened into her. Catorino Solis was pronounced dead at the hospital. The box truck driver, Everildo Quevedo, was ticketed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, running a red light, and failure to yield right of way.
I feel very sorry for Solis' family. Losing a family member is an extremely difficult situation. If you have lost a loved one due to the negligence of another, speak with an experienced wrongful death attorney. You may be thinking of filing a wrongful death lawsuit to recover compensation for your losses. A wrongful death attorney can work for you to help determine and recover the appropriate about of compensation.
