Toddler dies of possible morphine overdose after dental proceedure
San Antonio, TX - On Sunday December 27th, family members decided to remove 22-month-old Maddoux Cordova from life support, following 2 weeks of treatment for a possible morphine overdose. Earlier, Cordova was treated at an outpatient surgical facility for a decaying tooth. Hours after the procedure, his grandmother called 911 to report the boy was not breathing.
Stories like this are truly upsetting. This boy appears to have lost his life due to the negligence of an anesthesiologist. Malpractice by medical professionals is a serious issue, and recent tort reform has made filing a lawsuit against a medical professional very difficult. One of the most important things you can do in this situation, is to call an experienced wrongful death attorney. A wrongful death lawyer in Texas can make sure your claim is filed properly, and help recover the maximum amount of compensation for your damages.

I know the godfather of this child, and I just wonder who would ever think of giving morphine to someone at such a tender age. We don't even like giving my 29 month old grandaughter any type of medication. These are professionals that have our lifes in their hands. They should have told the mother what they were going to give the toddler before they administered the morphine. My heart goes out to the entire Cordova family and grandparents.
