3 young girls killed crossing unsafe intersection in Terrell TX
Friday, December 4th, 2009 - Three girls were killed when they tried crossing a darkened area of State Highway 34 at East State Street in Terrell. Ana Segura, 16, Viridiana Roa, 14, and Ana's 12-year-old sister, Jacqueline Segura were struck by a vehicle around 6:30pm on their way from a friends house. Residents of the neighborhood say they have complained about that very intersection before Friday's incident. They say there are a lack of streetlights, speed limit signs, and crosswalks. Police investigators said no charges are expected against the driver, who stopped after the crash. It is not known how fast she was driving.
In such an unfortunate situation like this, both of these families are undoubtedly going through extremely tough emotional distress, as well as financial distress for medical bills and final expenses. It is unfair that the family is forced to bear these burdens. In Texas wrongful death cases like these, one very important thing to do is to contact a wrongful death attorney. An attorney can look at the case, find those deemed responsible or negligent, and seek financial compensation for the family's loss.
