Two young girls from were killed while crossing the street in Terrell, TX
On December 4, 2009, two young teenage girls were killed by a vehicle as they crossed the street in Terrel, Texas. The fatal accident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Highway 34 near State street as three young girls, ages 16, 14, 12, were struck by an automobile. Authorities say that it does not appear that 0the driver of the car will be charged and that a likely contributing factor to the accident is a poorly lit section of street.
This is a tragic accident and I wish the best for the families of the victims. There are multiple factors at work in these types of situations. This may simply be an accident or it may turn out that a wrongful death has taken place. Naturally, had this accident been the result of a drunken driver (which does not seem to be the case) or a driver that was speeding or otherwise distracted, negligence would be easy to determine. Perhaps a defect in the road or inadequate lighting contributed to the deaths of these two young girls. Naturally, I am speculating for illustrative purposes, but had such a factor contributed to the accident, an experienced Texas wrongful death attorney would be able to help the families involved file a claim or lawsuit against the responsible parties. In matters of death, it is always a good idea to leave no stone unturned and conduct an investigation just so that all of the facts are brought to light.
