34-year-old Casey Moran killed in Jersey City work-related accident
On May 12, 2009 34-year-old Casey Moran died in a work accident. The accident occurred at approximately 10:13 p.m. as Moran was working on a Hackensack River railroad bridge tower in Jersey City near Duffield Ave. and St. Paul's Ave. For reasons not full known, Moran fell from a metal staircase onto the tracks below, resulting in his death. It is speculated that Moran was struck by a beam that swung toward him, but whether or not such an event occurred has not been determined. OSHA will launch a full investigation.
