Pat Buzbee Dead Following Collision with Waste Truck in Porter, Texas
Local news reports from the Montgomery County Police Reporter indicate a
county official was killed in an accident in Porter, Texas. The
incident occurred around 3 p.m. Monday, February 20 when multiple
vehicles approached a stop light at FM 1314. Two vehicles slowed for the
light, but a medical waste company truck failed to stop. The driver of
the truck then swerved out of the way of the vehicle in front and side
swiped an SUV in another lane. The vehicle began to roll, killing its
driver 65-year-old Pat Buzbee.

Commentary I just do not find this to be the correct response to a
danger in the roadway, but then again the only appropriate response is
practicing attentive driving and slowing down with traffic at the light.
Even in a situation where liability appears to be clearly
in favor of a plaintiff (I say this from a legal standpoint. No one
wishes to become involved in an accident.), they are still tasked with
proving why they should be compensated, should they seek civil remedies
from the accident. In most accidents, and especially commercial vehicle
accidents, a third party should investigate the accident scene, as
again, even the most apparent of liability will be hotly contested by
attorneys of the defendant. With insurance policies reach the
million-dollar mark, their only job is to mitigate economic damage to
the company.
