Callie Tullos and Ashleigh Dodd Killed in Auto Accident in Robinson, near Waco, Texas
According to KXXV, two women were killed in a car crash in Robinson,
near Waco, Texas. The accident occurred around 1:15 a.m. Saturday,
January 7 when Texas DPS officials believe 23-year-old Callie Tullos and
24-year-old Ashleigh Dodd were speeding on Surrey Ridge Lane, lost
control, and struck a tree. Both women were pronounced dead at the
scene. Local authorities continue to investigate the accident.
Commentary This is a
terrible tragedy made worse by speculation into a cause by commenting
readers. The fact of the matter is that the news feed does not offer any
details towards a cause, only mentioning loss of control of the
vehicle. Because of this, a third party investigation should be used for
liability purposes. From this examination into the accident scene,
possible remedies could be made apparent. Most notably, any
time a loss of control is cited in the news, the vehicle in question
should be inspected for malfunction. Though statistically less common
then something like driver error, mechanical malfunction can play a big
role in an accident and unfortunately is only manifested at the most
inopportune time. A scenario like this may place at least partial fault
on a third party, which could aid in compensating survivors of the
victims.
