5 Killed in Plane Crash in Central Texas in Brazos County
According to several local news outlets, 5 people were killed in a plane crash in central Texas. The accident occurred just before 10 p.m. Monday, December 19 in a ranching community of Brazos County. Texas Department of Public Safety officials believe the flight began in Atlanta, Georgia, made a stop in Jackson, Mississippi and was bound for Waco, Texas before the crash. Severe weather may have played a role in the accident.
Commentary My thoughts are with the victims in the accident. Plane crashes are some of the most difficult to investigate and any attempt at civil restitution should be carefully paired with the FAA's report. Severe weather could have certainly played a role in the crash, but issues like instrumentation problems, pilot error, or mechanical malfunction should be checked as well.
