Following the FDA's June warning regarding the possible injuries associated with Actos, Grossman Law Offices developed a new website to answer the questions that arise following an injury from the diabetes-related drug. In June, the FDA noted an increased risk of contracting bladder cancer with patients who have a developed exposure to the drug Actos. Furthermore, the warning identified other possible side effects of the drug like heart failure, edema, and liver problems.
Commentary
When the Food and Drug Administration notes the possible side effects of bladder cancer or heart failure, it is apparent that there exists a need for information that is detailed but appropriate for public consumption. In my experience, drug injuries leaves many questions unanswered, as a consumer certainly does not expect a severe side effect from a prescription medication but also because the legal ramifications from a drug injury are not quite as common as say the aftermath of a car accident.
