Commentary The school these young men and women attend has been hit hard with tragedy lately. My thoughts are with the family of the deceased, and everyone is hoping for a speedy recovery of those injured. When an accident of this magnitude occurs, every contingency should be examined by a third party investigation. Having children of my own, I would want to know that the driver of the vehicle was allowed to drive with the parents' confidence of a good driving record and that this was just a freak accident. We litigated another case involving a minor driver in which the parents were aware of the young man's problems behind the wheel and poor driving record. The investigation into that accident found the inaction of the parents to be one of the causes of the wreck in question. While very difficult to think about, this aided our client in determining a strategy for civil remedies going forward after the wreck. Irrespective of my analysis however, the most important thing currently is recovery, for the injured students, the families involved, and the high school.
