Commentary In my experience, hit-and-run drivers typically have something else to hide, beyond just the accident. My firm has litigated dozens of cases where the driver fled as a result of an intoxicant or narcotic in their system. A third party investigation is needed to determine liability in this accident. Certainly I do not want to implicate anyone any further than the actual accident, but the timing and details of the accident suggest the investigation should shore up this line of thinking. I am obviously speculating, and maybe none of this applicable, but this is why I typically include in my blogging the need for an investigation. Especially in accidents where a person is killed, multiple accounts and theories of liability emerge, each particularly relevant in wrongful death claims.
